Haras Maripá was founded in 1979, with the objective of genetically producing horses which are comfortable to ride, have a rhythmic, smooth movement and the ability to live in farms. A sporting horse, which is sound, robust, has a good conformation, is extremely beautiful, with a good temperament and sweet.

Initially we used breeding farm Abaíba as a base, mating Furacão Bela Cruz (Alfazema Bela Cruz X Arubé Bela Cruz, both progeny of Tabatinga Predileto), and Herdade Jupiá (Herdade Ouro Preto X Herdade Alteza).

Today we perform consanguineous breeding, between half brothers, and search the market for a cross which might reduce our level of consanguinity. We are currently carrying out experiments with Vinhático JN 53.

AB DO MARIPÁ

In 2002, we managed to acquire some Abaíba mares, still being cared for by Mr. Erico, including Abaíba Nissei, Abaíba Namorada, and Abaíba Miragem. We are very excited and dedicated to these crosses because these mares are the closest to Abaíba and to Mr. Erico’s work that we’ll be able to get in our farm. We are carrying out crosses with Laio de Maripá and Quati AJ, with produce being registered with the suffix “Ab of Maripá”.
